How to attain Wilaayat within a short span of time

HOW TO ATTAIN WILAAYAT IN A SHORT SPAN OF TIME?

Allah has put the desire of sins in the heart of every person but Allah said, “Don’t commit the sin.”

فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَاهَا

In other words all the food of sin is before us, but we shouldn’t eat a single item. How much of Sabr doesn’t a person have to make, as this desire to sin will be experienced throughout one’s life.

Many people have the wrong notion and think that the great auliya and ulema don’t have the desire of sin, thus living a life of Deen and piety is easy for them. No! They also have desire to sin and the more a person has the desire of ghuna but restrains, the greater is his reward by Allah Ta'ala. A person who is void of desire, such as those people that don’t have desire for women and don’t commit sin, cannot become the friends of Allah Ta'ala. A person that has a strong desire of sinning but abstains attains Wilaayat.

Another thing which troubles alot of saaliks is that they think, how can I be a pious person when I have such great desire of sinning. No, the desire of sins is not against being a wali of Allah Ta'ala. We are simply required to contradict the desire we have and abstain from sinning.

In Ramadaan a person feels very thirsty and wants to have a cooldrink, water, etc. but one’s fast doesn’t break due to having a desire. The moment he sips a drop of water his fast will be broken. Similarly, by committing the smallest sin your taqwa will be broken. However, the thoughts of a person don’t interfere with the taqwa and wilayat of a person in the least bit. Many people have the incorrect notion that because I got these evil desires I’m the worst. No, these evil desires do trouble a person, but simply don’t act on one single one of them. The more you refrain from acting upon the Haraam desires within you, the greater wali of Allah Ta'ala you will become. May Allah Ta'ala grant us the taufeeq of contradicting our Nafs and Haraam desires. Ameen!
