The calligraphy of the name of Allah!
Submitted by Mohammed Desai on
Our Sheikh is a great lover of Allah Ta'ala. How did he explain the name
of Allah to us? The letter Alif in Allah is like the pole of the flag. Every
country have a flag and they fly the flag high on special occasions. The flag
of Allah Ta'ala is flying high all the time.
The word Allah can be written in Arabic calligraphy in a different way.
However, it is not permissible to write the name Allah in a different manner.
It is only permissible to write the two Laams of Allah in the manner that it is
generally written. The word “Yaseen” is in the Quraan Sharif and it is written
without an Alif. However, when writing the name of a person, it has to be
written with an Alif, but in the Quraan Sharif, it is written differently.
The two Laams in the word Allah is two crowns. Allah c is the king so this is His
two crowns. Allah is not the king but He is the king of kings, therefore there
is a Tashdeed on the laam which indicates that there are two crowns for Allah Ta'ala. In the end is the letter
“Haa” which indicates that it is only He. There is no one else.
دل میرا ہوجاے ایک
میدان ہُو
تو ہی تو ہو تو ہی تو ہو تو ہی تو
May my
heart be an open field
In
it may it be only You, only You, only You
تیرے سوا معبود حقیقی کوئی نہیں ہے کوئی نہیں
Besides You there isn’t any true diety
On
top of the Tashdeed of the Laam there is a Kharaa Zabar which is an exclamation
mark. Is Allah really the greatest? He is the greatest! There is none other
than Him that is so great. By this the greatness of Allah c comes into the heart.
