مرشد کی مان لیجئے نظر کوبچاے اگر چاہتے ہو  دل میں خدا کو بساے

Obey the Sheikh, protect one’s gazes, if you want Allah Ta'ala to reside in your heart

In the Hadith Sharif, Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam is reported to have said,

النظر سهم من سهام ابليس مسموم

A lustful glance is a poisonous arrow from amongst the poisonous arrows of Shaytaan.

 This disease is extremely poisonous which has destroyed people, led them to insanity, and caused them to commit murders. It is such a poisonous arrow; it has caused people to do unbelievable things.

من تركها مخافتى ابدلته ايمانا يجد حلاوته

Whoever discards it (evil glances) due to My fear, I will change it with such (i.e. I will grant him) Imaan that he will enjoy it’s sweetness.

An easy way to give up this sin is by inculcating Taqwa (fear of Allah). So, a person who gives up this sin of casting lustful glances due to his fear of Allah Ta'ala, Allah Ta'ala will pay him for his effort. He has undergone great effort (by not casting lustful glances) and breaking one’s desire is very difficult, therefore Allah Ta'ala will pay a person in return.

ان الله لا يضيع اجر المحسنين

Verily Allah Ta'ala does not destroy the reward of the doers of good.

 How will Allah Ta'ala reward them? Allah Ta'ala grants them Imaan of such a level that he will enjoy the sweetness of it in his heart. This is the reward of controlling one’s gazes. The sweetness that Allah will bless a person with is not like the sweetness of milkshake and chocolates on the tongue. It is such sweetness of Imaan that one will sense in the heart regarding which Mulla Ali Qari R.A had said,

ان حلاوة الايمان اذا دخل القلب لم يخرج منه ابدا

Verily when the sweetness of Imaan enters the heart, it will never leave the heart.

So, listen to what our Sheikh has to say and this is one great way to find Allah and that is to guard your gazes.

جاتا ہے دل نظرکی خیانت کے راستے

The heart of a person is destroyed due to the deception of the eyes.

An example is that you have a very good engine in your car but you want to throw sand or something thats not supposed to be in it, instead of oil etc. No matter how good the engine is, it will get destroyed. Likewise your heart will get destroyed by looking at Haraam things.

Many people enquire, “Why don’t I enjoy my Salaah?” Why don’t I enjoy my Zikr? Why don’t I enjoy making Dua?. The main reason is that our eyes are out of control. How stupid are people in their worldly matters? Mature adults watch children’s cartoons on television and enjoy watching it. We are watching all the filth and dirt, and the worst is looking at all the strange women which Maulana Asadullah Saheb of Saharanpur R.A. describes in the following poem,

عشق بتاں  میں اے اسعد تم کرتے ہو فکر راحت

O Asad, are you searching for tranquillity in the filthy idols (women) of the streets,

دوزخ میں ڈھوندتے ہو جنت کی خواب گاہے

Are you searching for the pleasures of Jannat in Jahannam.

The painted dollies of the road, when  a person sees the reality, that this is filth and dirt, then his heart will disincline from it immediately. When a person does not look after his heart then according to a narration of Mishkaat Sharif, the curse of Allah pours upon such a person.

لعن الله الناظر والمنظور اليه

The curse of Allah is upon the one that cast lustful glances and the one that is being looked at (as such a person has adorned and beautified him or herself to be looked at).

 Allah’s curse is upon the person that looks at another, and those that present themselves to be looked at. These are those that do not observe Purda, those that apply perfume and go out, and those that walk stylishly etc. to attract men. Allah’s curse(punishment) is upon them. The flames of Jahannam are wrapped around them, yet they are deriving enjoyment whilst the flames of Jahannam are wrapped around them. The minds of such people are even worse than being mad.

One is a person that is in Ghaflat (unmindfulness). One is a person that is intoxicated due to the intake of some intoxicants. One is a mad person. One is a person that has no explanation for it, he derives enjoyment by being in the fire of Jahannam. A Mu’min knows that casting lustful glances is Allah’s La’nat yet he is deriving enjoyment from it. Your mind and your heart has become upside down, it is like you are enjoying eating stool and drinking urine and saying “how wonderful۔” How can there be such a person, not even a mad person will do this. When a person’s taste buds go bad to such an extent, that not only he is unable to taste anything, but that which is bitter and filthy becomes enjoyable to him.

 Such a person’s heart is totally destroyed. That engine that had the ability of pulling a big jumbo jet can’t even pull a wheelbarrow or even an ant any longer. It is completely destroyed.
