Your servant has come to your threshold with the hope of attaining your kindness!

This is the season of Haj and people from throughout the world are flocking to the blessed lands of Makkah Sharif and Madinah Sharif. Every Nabi of Allah Ta'ala had visited Makkah Sharif and performed Haj. There are many Buzurgs from around the world that present themselves for the annual Haj as well. The Barakaat (blessings) of all these great Awliya, Mufassireen, Muhadditeen, Fuqaha, is intact in the Haram of Makkah Sharif and Madinah Sharif. Also, there are great Qurra teaching Quraan in the Haram Sharif of Makkah Sharif, so we can well imagine the blessings of the Haram.

Unfortunately, these things are not before us rather our gazes are on those that are busy taking pictures. We should make intention of acquiring all these blessings during our stay in the Haram Sharif. As for those that are unable to be present every year, their thoughts should be with the Hujjaj.

Your servant has come to Your threshold with the hope of attaining your kindness

Allah Ta'ala is Kareem, The One that is most kind and generous. Our Sheikh R.A beautifully explains that Kareem is that being that grants without us asking of Him, that Being that grants in spite of us not being worthy of His favours, that Being that grants more than what we desire, that Being that grants without any fear that His resources will be exhausted.

Once a person came to Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam requesting that a particular need of his be fulfilled. Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam was unable to assist him at that stage due to lack of resources, so he told him to go to Uthman R.A. and convey his Salaams to him. When the person reached the house of Uthmaan h, he found him reprimanding his wife (the daughter of  Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam) as the wig of the lamp was burning slightly more than required. The person thought that Uthmaan R.A. is reprimanding his wife, where will he be able to assist me? He returned without presenting his need. When Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam met him he enquired, “Was your need fulfilled?” The person explained the situation; Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “Go and convey my Salaams to Uthmaan R.A.” He proceeded to the home of Uthmaan R.A. for the second time and conveyed the Salaams of Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Uthmaan R.A. gave him ten times more than required. He was surprised and enquired, “How is it that you were reprimanding your wife for burning the lamp slightly extra, yet you are giving me much more than my requirement?” Uthman h replied, “Burning the lamp more than required was wastage but spending on you is a necessity that needs to be fulfilled.”

Similarly, Allah Ta'ala also blesses a person more than what he desires, as He is Kareem and without any fear of His resources being exhausted. After understanding the generosity of Allah Ta'ala, can we imagine what rewards Allah Ta'ala will bless a person with for making Tawaaf of His house, making Sa’ee between Safa and Marwa, etc. There are those people in this day and age that go to the Haram at 1.00 am and return to their hotel after performing Ishraaq Salaah, whilst others are busy sleeping and eating. A person can rest and eat throughout the world, but Ka’aba Sharif is only found in Makkah Sharif, thus our time in Makkah and Madinah Sharif should be greatly valued.

Allama Sayyid Sulaiman Nadwi R.A. would wait for next day’s Tahajjud from the morning, due to the great enjoyment they derived in communication with Allah Ta'ala.

It is only the kindness of Allah Ta’ala that the Haram is before my eyes

A valuable time of our life has come (where we can reap great benefits)

In Ramadaan, a person accrues as much as possible as the reward of a Nafl is increased to carrying out a Fardh, whilst a Fardh carried out in Ramadaan is multiplied by seventy times. Similarly, the rewards of carrying out good deeds are multiplied in the Haram. Unfortunately, we are busy visiting the shopping malls, eating out, touring, etc. The people of India and other countries reside at a distance from the Haram; and as a result they come to the Haram in the morning and remain in the Masjid until the evening. What a sacrifice! We on the other hand are extremely weak and therefore search for hotels and accommodation closest to the Haram. Those that sacrifice are blessed by Allah Ta’ala accordingly.

By the kindness of the Rabb of Ka’aba Sharif, Duas are not rejected here.

There are various occasions when Duas are accepted in the court of Allah Ta'ala ; such as Duas made between the Adhaan and Iqaamah. Similarly, the Imaams should spend a little extra time in Dua after the Fajr and Asr Salaah as there isn’t any Sunnat Salaah after these two Salaah. After the remaining three Salaah, there are Sunnat-e-Muakkada to be performed thus the Dua should be kept concise. The Duas at the time of Tahajjud are also extremely valuable as this is another occasion of acceptance of Duas. Similarly the Duas made at Ka’aba Sharif are readily accepted By Allah Ta'ala.

It is the favour of Allah Ta'ala that the Multazam is before me

This is that place where the Ambiya A.S had attached their bosoms and supplicated before Allah Ta'ala. The Mataaf is that area where the Ambiya A.S had walked, yet Allah Ta'ala has given great sinners like us the opportunity to walk on the same area.

Every atom here is a manifestation of the Noor of the Ka’aba.

It is purely the kindness of (the Master) Allah Ta'ala (on the one that has come to the Haram) that the Haram is before us.

Even though we are full of sins, where must your servant go?

We are full of sins, but a person that goes to Allah Ta’ala with hope is never rejected, in fact Allah Ta’ala forgives him, grants him much more than his desires. What is meant that a person should go to Allah Ta'ala with hope? Going to Allah Ta'ala with hope means that a person should try and save himself from sins to the best of his ability, and repent to Allah Ta'ala with remorse in his heart. It shouldn’t be such that we are sinning continuously yet we say that Allah Ta'ala is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful. This type of hope is in actual fact deception.

A person intends performing Haj, he says that Allah Ta'ala will take him to Makkah Sharif but he hasn’t even submitted his name for visas. A person that has hope will submit his name, phone the embassy, enquire whether his application has been approved or not, etc. This is termed as hope. At the end of every Salaah we seek forgiveness of Allah Ta'ala for our sins, we shouldn’t be despondent, rather have full hope in Allah Ta'ala.

Beware of the cunningness of Shaytaan! When a person intends sinning Shaytaan says, “Don’t worry, you can repent later for the sin and Allah has promised to forgive His servants.” Always be careful of the trap of Shaytaan, leave Ulema, he even traps great Awliya. After committing the sin, Shaytaan makes a person totally despondent by saying, “You think that Allah Ta'ala will forgive you, forget it!” When intending to sin, we should keep the Adhaab of Allah Ta'ala before us; and if we erred and sinned, now look at the mercy of Allah Ta'ala. Shaytaan works in the opposite way, when intending to sin, he reminds us of the mercy of Allah Ta'ala and after sinning he puts before us the Adhaab of Allah Ta'ala.

The hypocrites during the era of Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam used to indulge in various sins, particularly the sin of taking false oaths regularly. When they would be told to request Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam to seek forgiveness on their behalf, they would say, “We don’t need to seek forgiveness.” Allah Ta’ala states in the Quraan Sharif,

If only it were that when they (the hypocrites) oppress (wrong) their souls, they should come to you (O Muhammad Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam) seeking Allaah’s forgiveness and then the Rasool (Muhammad Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam) seeks forgiveness on their behalf, they will then surely find that Allaah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.

This option remains open for us up to this day, that we present ourselves at the Rowdah-e-Mubarak and request Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam to seek forgiveness on our behalf.

The tongue is helpless cannot express sufficient gratitude, O Akthar

Far more than expected I received His kindness

The dictionaries of the world do not contain sufficient words to express gratitude to Allah Ta'ala. We are indebted to Allah Ta'ala for our Imaan, being amongst the followers of Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam, being part of the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaa’ah and further Allah Ta'ala has joined us with the Ulema that possess the correct Aqaaid. Amongst the various bounties of Allah Ta'ala, these are just some of the bounties that we are enjoying.
