Hadrat Abu Hurairah R.A and Hadrat Abu Khallaad R.A narrates that Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam is reported to have said, “When you notice that any servant speaks little and is disinclined towards the world then attain closeness to him for verily he has been blessed with wisdom. (Baihaqi)

In some narrations, Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam was asked, “Who is an intelligent person?” He replied, “He who remembers death excessively and prepares for after death.” In this Hadith, Wisdom refers to righteous actions and speaking correctly. Allah states in the Quraan Sharif, “Whoever has been blessed with wisdom has been blessed with plenty of goodness.” Such a person is referred to a sincere Alim that has reached perfection and acts upon his knowledge. It is Waajib upon every person to remain in the company of such servants.
