TARBIYAT OF CHILDREN

After 9 years, Hazrat Ibraheem [Alayhis Salaam] was commanded by Allah Ta'ala to visit his wife and son. Thereafter, Allah Ta'ala instructed Hazrat Ibraaheem [Alayhis salaam]  to slaughter his son. The father then conveyed the Command of Allah Ta'ala to his son Hazrat Isma'eel [Alayhis salaam]

قَالَ يبني انى ارى فى المنام اني اذبحك فانظر ماذا ترى
.. He said: ' O MY SON! I SEE IN A VISION THAT I OFFER YOU IN SACRIFICE: NOW SEE, WHAT IS YOUR VIEW? ..

Hazrat Ibraaheem [Alayhis salaam] was not making Mashwara with his son. He was testing his son, to gauge the level of his Imaan, the degree of his submission, and to see the fruit of his mother's Ta'leem and Tarbiyya.

Dr Iqbal, the famous poet, said:

"Was it the blood of the father or was it the milk of the mother which made him give such an answer!"

It was really both.

What answer did Hazrat Ismaeel [Alayhis salaam] give to his father?
"(THE SON) said: ' O MY FATHER! DO AS YOU ARE COMMANDED, TOU WILL FIND ME, IF ALLAH SO WILLS, AMONGS THE PATIENT ONES."

From this we learn how important  the upbringing of children is! We need to give our children the proper Islamic education, nurturing and training, to be good, sincere, devoted Muslims!

Take a lesson from Hazrat Hajra [Alayhas salaam]. She is a role model for all mothers. She brought up her son so beautifully; nurturing obedience and submission to Allah Ta'ala, that he could present such an answer. Allahu Akbar!
