مجھ کو طوفانوں میں بھی ساحل دیا

In the storms of the sea (at the time of problems), Allah Ta'ala gave me the shores (safety)

ان کی جانب رفتہ رفتہ لے چلا                                   میری کشتی کا مرا غم ناخدا

Something took me gradually to Allah, the captain of sorrows of my ship

خون حسرت پی کے وہ عشرت ملی                     عیش دو عالم ہوا جس پر فدا

By swallowing the blood of sorrows I attained such enjoyment, the enjoyment of both the worlds sacrificed themselves over it.

میری حسرت کی بہاروں کو نہ پوچھ                         اہل عشرت بن گئے میرے گدا

Don’t ask the condition of the spring of my sorrows, the people of enjoyment of the world became my slaves.

سب کی عشرت دل سے باہر ہوگئی                      میری حسرت  میرے دل میں ہے سدا

The enjoyment of everyone is out of their heart, my sorrow is forever in my heart

بے وفا عشرت ہے یا حسرت ہے میر                         سوچ کر خود فیصلہ کر لو ذرا

Is disloyalty enjoyment or sorrow sir, think and make a decision yourself.

ان کی رحمت میر پر سایہ فگن                         گو بظاہر میر  ہے غم میں پڑا

His mercy is covering Meer, even though outwardly Meer is lying in grief and sorrow

خواجگی  ان کی ہماری بندگی                                  جس طرح پالیں تو ان پر رہ فدا

He is the king and we are the servant, be sacrificed in that path by which you may reach Allah Ta'ala

خنجر تسلیم سے اے دوستو                                 ہو رہی ہے غیب سے صد جاں عطا

By the dagger of submission O friends, from the unseen you will be blessed with a hundred lives

اہل ظاھر کو خبر اسکی نہی                              جان حسرت کو ہے جو عشرت  عطاء

The worldly people aren’t aware of these realities; the person living a life of sorrow is blessed with great enjoyment

عشرتیں تو دشمنوں کو بھی ملیں                      عاشقوں کو اپنا غم بخشا سدا

The enjoyments of the world are given to the enemies as well; the lovers were given perpetual love (of Allah)

ساری دنیا کے مزے فانی ملیے                       غیر فانی مجھ کو تیرا غم ملا

He acquired the perishable enjoyment of the world, I got your love that is permanent.

قبر کی جانب ہیں جن کی منزلیں                     مستند ان کو نہ تو اپنا بنا

Whose abode is towards the Qabr, don’t regard such people as reliable

دشمنوں کو عیش آب وگل دیا                         دوستوں کو اپنا درد دل دیا

The enemies were given (the enjoyment of) sand and water, friends were given His love

ان کو ساحل پر بھی طغیانی ملی         مجھ کو طوفانوں میں بھی ساحل دیا

They found storms on the shore, I was given the shores in the storms.
