The special moments

إن لربكم عز وجل في أيام دهركم نفحات فتعرضوا لها لعل أحدكم أن تصيبه منها
نفحة لا يشقى بعدها أبدا
Surely your Rabb has Nafahaat (special winds of mercy) in the days of your time, so expose yourself to them. For perhaps you will attain a breeze from them and thereafter you will never be unfortunate. [Tabarani]
Allah has kept many special moments in our Deen hidden, some of which are the blessed night which holds more virtue than a 1000 nights, which is Laylatul Qadr - the night of power, and the hidden moment on the Day of Jummuah wherein duaas are readily accepted.
Allah in his infinite wisdom has kept them hidden, so that the sincere servants of Allah may exert themselves in his worship, in search of those special moments.
This Mubaarak month of Ramadhan is filled with such moments. Among these special moments in the month of Ramadhaan is at the time of Iftaar. Every Muslim should exert himself in duaa at this time of breaking the fast.
Abdullah bin Umar (Radiyallahu anhu) would gather his family at the time of iftaar instructing them to make Duaa to Allah Ta'ala at this time of acceptance.
Ladies should try and free themselves from the kitchen way in advance to maximize in these moments.
"I found the du'a' made one minute before breaking the fast to be incredibly powerful. If only the Ummah utilized it, all our problems would be solved. Also, when breaking the fast, after placing the first date in your mouth, make du'a from the heart within the first 30 seconds."
from the discourses of Hazrat Moulana Abdul Hamid Ishaq Saab (Daamat Barakaatuh)
