Duas to be recited in Makkah and Madinah Sharif

ACTS TO BE CARRIED OUT IN MADINAH SHARIF

1. Recite Durood Sharif excessively. Recitation of Durood Sharif is actually saying Jazakallah to Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam

2. Secondly, we should make Dua for Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.  The status of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is extremely high so what Dua can one make for Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.  The following Dua,

اللهم اٰت محمدن الوسيلة والفضيلة وابعثه مقاما محمودن الذي وعدته انك لا تخلف الميعاد

O Allah! Grant Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam Waseela and virtue and raise him on the praiseworthy position which You have promised him, verily You will not break Your promises

3.    The third thing that is included in our Durood Sharif is the praises of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Allah Ta’ala himself praises Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, the Sahaaba would praise Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam and the Ulema of every era had praised Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam by composing various poems.

4. Fourthly, a person should express his love for Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam and this aspect is also included in the Durood Sharif that we recite.

Such a person will then benefit whether he sits on the right hand side of the Rowdah or at the leg side or even at a distance in Masjid-e-Nabawi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, to such an extent that even if a person is seated outside on the marble tiles and reciting Durood whilst looking at the dome of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, and this causes his heart to be saturated then a person will fly towards Allah Ta’ala. This is how a person should spend his time in Madinah Munawwarah.

ACTS TO BE CARRIED OUT IN MAKKAH SHARIF

1. The first is recitation of the third Kalimah. This should be recited a hundred times. If time permits then recite even more than this. This is our purpose of going to the holy places.

2. The second is one Tasbeeh of the fourth Kalimah (i.e. hundred times fourth Kalimah). These Tasbeehaat are beloved to Allah Ta’ala, especially during the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah.

3. The third is that tasbeeh which pleases Allah Ta’ala tremendously. When Allah Ta’ala is extremely pleased then Allah Ta’ala pays accordingly. We should also remember that Allah Ta’ala is one that appreciates greatly. The words are,

اشهد الا اله الا الله وحده لا شريك له اله واحد احد صمدا لم يتخذ صاحبة ولا ولد ولم يكن له كفوا احد

If a person recites these words there whilst engaged in Tawaaf or whilst making Sa’ee between Safa and Marwa and he feels the presence of Allah Ta’ala then how great isn’t it.

4. The fourth action that is most beloved to Allah Ta’ala is Tauba and Istighfaar so recite a Tasbeeh of Istighfaar. Allah Ta’ala loves a person that makes the Ibaadat of Allah Ta’ala and then finally says that he was unable to fulfil the right of Allah Ta’ala.

5. Finally, one should recite one Tasbeeh of Durood Sharif
