ACQUIRING DEEN FROM THE INTERNET WILL CAUSE ONE TO FALL INTO ERROR

Deen can only be acquired from people that have Deen in them. Yes, we may acquire knowledge from the books but we certainly cannot acquire Deen. If we try acquiring Deen from the internet and Kitaabs then we will certainly fall in error. To explain this point we shall quote two  examples, a father whilst lying down preparing to sleep calls his son Muhammad to bring him water. The son will present water in a glass as he knows that the father intends drinking water. If the father is standing next to his car on a Sunday morning and calls his son to bring water, the water will be presented in a bucket as the father now wants to wash his vehicle. The same words were used but there is a vast difference in the meaning. It is possible that a person that was not present may interpret the scenarios in a different manner. He may bring water in a bucket when the father wants to drink water and bring water in a glass when the father wants to wash the car. The son that was present will know the correct interpretation. In a like manner, the Sahaaba had explained to the Taabi’een who in turn explained to the Tabe Taabi’een.

The second example is of a father that was about to leave the world. He had a son that was studying at university so he left a few advices for the son. He wrote, “You must go to work in the shade and return in the shade. Secondly, you must eat the best food and thirdly you must perform a new Nikah every year.” After reading the bequest of the father the son built a shady carport or something similar from his home until work. The son would leave at 11:00 to work and return at approximately 15.00 or so. In his mind he was going to work in the shade and returning in the shade. He also commanded his wife to cook the best as this was the father’s request. As for the father’s third bequest, it left him totally perplexed, how is he going to get married every year? He then decided to consult with his father’s secretary who worked lifelong with the father and understood the father’s temperament. The secretary told him that you haven’t even understood a single advice of your father.

The advise of your father to go to work in the shade means that you should leave for work before sunrise and return after sunset. You should work tirelessly. Eating the best of foods mean that you should eat only when you are hungry. When hungry any food will be eaten with great relish and enjoyment. If a person is satiated then he will object even though he is served Biryani and roast. Getting married every year means that you should have relations with your wife once a year. This is difficult to understand in this era when Shaytaan and his agents are propagating evil in every corner of the world. The son that didn’t live with the father was unable to understand yet the secretary who was always with the father understood everything. Similarly, we should acquire Deen from those that have Deen in them, those who acquired Deen from such people that had Deen in them and this chain finally links with Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
